Presenting

It is coming up to the end of the semester at the University of Limerick and the amount of assignments and exams are beginning to wind down. There are a few major ones left but with each day the to do list becomes shorter.

In this blog post I would like to talk about an assignment in my English Literature module on Victorian Texts.

We are finishing up this module as I have with other English literature modules I’ve taken with a series of presentations on one of the texts we had to read for the module and I am currently preparing for my presentation on April 9th on the New Women’s Essays.

One of our final assignments on Victorian Texts this semester is to give a presentation based on a close reading of the text we were given and I think I have said on this blog in the past few weeks I don’t do too well with presentations. I usually feel the anxiety starting a few weeks before and it can build from there if I let it.

The anxiety I used to feel before a presentation used to be so severe I would consider leaving the course I am doing. It has improved a bit over the years and now I am able to do it with less anxiety, though I can still feel it building in the days and weeks before a presentation.

I have a few days now to prepare my presentation as well as myself and once I am able to prepare myself to get through it I should be alright.

Hopefully I get the chance to let you know how I get on with my final presentation of the semester in a future blog post.
